Fitness Journey

New lifestyle

Back story and Current Status

Hello everyone! As of June 15, 2025, ya girl weighs 240.6 lb (109.13 kg)
I have always been a fluffy girl. I started high school at 180 lb, not really watching my food but I had just found Whitney Simmons on YouTube the year before(8th grade) so I had started working out.  I believe my sophomore year in heigh school when I was working out consistently and taking care of my eating habits I got down to 170 lb and gained muscle. I even started a Fitness account on Instagram(fit.briee). The account is still up and I have started using it again for my new journey. Shout out to Whitney Simmons because she was and still is one of my biggest inspirationsπŸ’•

What happened?

I started birth control the second semester of my senior year. I know, who would have thought!
I started gained weight soon after and it wasn't stopping. However it wasn't only the birth control that made me gain weight, I also started University the following semester and freshman 15 became freshman 70 for meπŸ’€.
It's been 5 years since the weight gain and I have tried multiple times to get back on track but I kept failing. Every failure made me lose confidence in myself and built resentment on myself, my partner, and caused me to isolate myself from everyone I cared about.
Every time I went home my family would comment on my appearance and ask me "are you still working out", "why did you stop working out?" and say things like "you used to be so healthy","I remember when you used to make healthy meals",and this, this and that. Family really can be our biggest haters sometimes lol.

Important to mention

  • I got off birth control the second semester of university.
  • I currently suspect I have PCOS
    • I have dar facial hair growing on my chin
    • My period was irregular before starting the pill
    • After I got off the pill for the first time I did not get my period for 2 years. Then Started the pill again
    • I have a lot of bloating
  • I an currently not on birth control
    • I am on a Non-hormonal birth control/fertility tracker (Daysy)
  • I also suffer from GURD

What Now

Starting on Sun June 15, 2025 I am starting my Healthy Journey for what I hope is the last time and will make it my life style.
I will be posting every step of the way here. I will talk about my hormonal problems and what I am doing to manage them. Tag along with me and if you suffer from something similar let's get through this together!πŸ’›

Day One

On my first day I set off on my investigation of what I wanted to do with my diet.
because of my GURD and suspected PCOS there is some stuff I wanted to try and other I had to do.
GURD
For my GURD I needed
  • minimum of 2 hours after eating before going to bed.
  • No fried food
  • No carbonated drinks
  • Reduce the amount of spicy powders like chili, cayenne pepper and etc.
There is other things like no processed snack but I do not want to go cold turkey and mess with my relationship with food. Instead I want to limit the amount of times I snack on these things.

For PCOS
I have heard a good start is to change to lactose free and gluten free for a month to see if it would benefit you. From past experience I know that lactose does inflate me and makes me feel gross so I will definitely switch to lactose free milk full time.
Other things I want to do are:

  • more sweet potatoes
  • whole wheat
  • switch to olive oil
  • limit anything with white flour

Actual Actions

Week 1

Day One (Sunday)

Now that I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do it was time to get some groceries.
The only problem was that I have recently purchased groceries and I do not want them to go to waist.
SO this first week I will focus on how to get the most out f the groceries I already had.
I did do a small trip however and got some extra things I was missing.

My breakfast for day one I had was an avocado toast with two eggs and a peach. I was a little small but It actually filled me up pretty good.
(I used sourdough bread and added some lime and a sprinkle of salt to the avocado)

For dinner I had @thewomensdietitian on TikTok , Cheese Broccoli Twice Baked Potatoes.

I woke up pretty late on this day so I only had two meals and in between I had some plain popcorn and a peach.

Day Two (Monday)

For breakfast I had another avocado toast but this time I added turkey meat and another peach. A lot of the times when starting a different journey it's really easy to get stuck on trying to find recipes. However the key is to find the meals that work for you and stick with them while still searching for more ideas.
(Unfortunately I didn't get a picture but I did for day 4 lol)

For Lunch I had a home made chipotle inspired burrito bowl.

For dinner I had another cheese potato and unfortunately the only picture I have is a screenshot from my study account πŸ˜‚
I will get better at this I promise!

Day Three (Tuesday)

The night before I set up overnight oats for the next morning. I followed a Pinterest recipe for Tiramisu oatmeal (I will add the creator soon, I lost the post πŸ˜“)

For lunch I had leftovers from day two lunch so I had another burrito bowl

For dinner, I am embarrassed to say that I had another avocado toast with turkey πŸ˜‚.  Honestly I've been obsessed with it and I have no shame earn I say that I have been looking forward to it every morning πŸ˜‚πŸ’›

Day Four (Wednesday)

Day Five (Thursday)

Fish soup

For dinner I did not feel that hungry so I just made dome guac and had it with some tortilla chips

Day Six (Friday)

Day Seven (Saturday)

I had some more of the chicken and potato salad.

Week 2

Day 1 (Sunday)
On Sunday I slept in pretty late so I only ended up eating two main meals because Ididnt feel as hungry, especially after the lunch I had lol.
But fro breakfast I had the Southwestern salad again.

And for lunch, my boyfriend had a day off of work so we went out to eat at Canes, not the healthiest place but I was craving it.
It was important to me that this time in my health journey I was not too strict with myself as I have been in the past. My goal it to change my life style for my health while still enjoying the things that I love.

Day 2 (Monday)
